Lithia an unincorporated community in Hillsborough County Florida. It is a suburb of Tampa Florida and has a population of 8,527. The zip code is 33547. Lithia, is a small community and home to Alderman Ford Park, located just minutes from Brandon, Plant city, Tampa. The town has a rich history in Agriculture, Saw Mills, Mining Phosphate. In the late 1990's NewLand Communities, purchased 3,000 acres (12 kmē) to develop Fishhawk Subdivisions and Fishhawk Ranch, more public works are currently in the development to build more public access areas. The locals who live in Lithia, refer to the town as Pinecrest. Lithia, was founded by the Alderman family in the 1800's, the name of the town comes from the word Lithium Oxide, Lithium Oxide was discovered in the water at Lithia Springs, in the late 1800's by the town's doctor.
